Richard Russell returns to radio to reveal new material from forthcoming Everything Is Recorded album

Following the release of Everything Is Recorded’s Close But Not Quite EP, Richard Russell put together a short mix for BBC R1’s Annie Mac, revealing some of what’s to come.

Selecting an electric combination of tracks and brief samples, Russell jumps between new and old, with records from artists such as Grace Jones, Jai Paul, Gil Scott-Heron and Frank Ocean. Towards the beginning Russell provided a reprisal of ‘Close But Not Quite’ (ft. Sampha) as well as an abbreviated taste of an unheard track from his forthcoming album in the form of ‘Mountains of Gold’ featuring Ibeyi, Wiki, Sampha and Kamasi Washington.

Revisit the Close But Not Quite EP below and be sure to listen out for more music from Everything Is Recorded. Listen to Richard Russell’s R1 mix (00:54:40) and check out the track list  here.
