At the tender age of 18, David Uzochukwu is storming onto the photography scene, with a global campaign already under his belt. His thoughtful and captivating images simply can’t be ignored.
The young talent of Nigerian descent began his career aged 13 with self-portraiture, too shy to ask others to be his subjects. Based in Brussels, Uzochukwu’s work has been featured on the cover of various prestigious magazines, including Vogue Netherlands and Hunger Magazine. Moving away from powerful portraiture, his big break came in the form of the 2017 Nike Campaign which saw him photograph renowned artist FKA twigs.
Seeing himself as an outsider due to his multi-cultural background, Uzochukwu aims to create a space ‘for others who feel like they don’t belong.’ See his work on the FKA twigs Nike campaign below and check out his website for more work.
